A subdivision of Kailua on the Windward side made up of mostly single family dwellings, Coconut Grove is a beautiful neighborhood where the majority of amenities and services needed by locals are located within the community; this means that being a little way out from Honolulu rarely presents a problem for residents. The area is well known for its calm and peaceful atmosphere. In nearby Kailua Town there are a variety of eateries, schools, parks, shopping centers and libraries in the business district, which is situated in the middle of several residences. Locals here are lucky enough to enjoy each access to Kailua Beach, which is easy one of the most popular in all of Hawaii. Kailua Beach and the nearby beach park are well suited to picnics, get togethers, swimming, relaxing in the sun or winsurfing; in fact it is widely considered one of the best windsurfng spots in Oahu. In Kailua Town one can find restaurants offering meals all day in a number of different price ranges and ethnicities, as well as several stores including department stores and boutiques, drugstores, supermarkets and several services from computer repair shops to dentists offices and doctors. The Kailua-Kalaheo school district is comprised of eight elementary schools, one middle schools and both the Kalaheo and Kailua High Schools. If you prefer private schooling for your children the Le Jardin Academy is also a part of the local school district.
