Enchanted Lake is one of the subdivisions of Kailua, and includes the area surrounding the Kaelepulu Pond, which is where the name comes from. Much like the rest of Kailua, the area is a very diverse and community focused neighborhood where locals genuinely care about each other, as well as the community as a whole. It is a key point for recreational activity where the residents, especially those lucky enough to live right on the lake, can engage in numerous activities. Fishing, swimming as well as boating are amongst the water based pass times offered to locals, and the Enchanted Lake Residents Association has established regulations to ensure that the wildlife which call the water home are protected from harm. Within Enchanted Lake one can find the Enchanted Lake Shopping Center, which lets locals enjoy a variety of eateries as well as chain stores such as Starbucks and McDonalds. Enchanted Lake is a part of the Kailua-Kalaheo school district, which includes eight elementary schools, one middle school and two high schools. If you prefer private schooling then there are plenty of choices in the area, including the famous Le Jardin Academy.
