I know that Hawaii is in the Tropical region and rain is a part of life there. I'm used to 4 seasons and I'm not sure how to adjust with a rainy and sunny season only.

Can anyone who had this climate transition tell me on how to cope up with this? I hate the cold that is why I'm relocating in Honolulu.

When I was growing up I was used to all four seasons, then I spent some time in hot states where I was used to only two (hot and hotter), for me now HI will be a breeze. A good breeze of course and I am sure it will take a little time but once I can retire, time will be the last thing I worry about.

For some, the change to a different climate is an easy adjustment.  For others, it's not.  I've known people that have moved there and had experiences both ways.  Having moved from part of the U.S. to another, I realize it takes up to two years to feel comfortable with the new environment; weather related and otherwise.

I lived in Phoenix Az. for 20 years, so I don't think the climate change would be too drastic for me. I like the 4 seasons, but I think I could adjust very well to a tropical climate.

I'll be making sure I have the right footwear and clothing to stay comfortable when it is raining a lot. Otherwise I'm not sure how much you can really do to prepare. Probably most of it is psychological rather than practical, and you are doing that by asking the question and exploring the idea.
