One thing that is shocking to most people of average means is the housing costs in Hawaii.  Expect no less than a home to be at least three times as much as a home in the midwest section of the United States.

Well, that is shocking indeed lizzi. How did you know of that. Have you been there or you've done research on the area. You done well for that info. Although I'm not surprise at all, Hawaii is a vacation spot anywhere you go. My 2 cents of worth.

That reminds me of "YMMV" (your mileage may vary)

For some reason people think that living in HI is going to be cheap, how would it be. Do they not realize things are imported? This is why I am saving up, when I go, I am going for good.

Well, I'm going to be going to college eventually so I am hoping for student housing.  I have a little girl too and I'm single.  I'll be working part time hopefully at a nearby hospital as a nurse.  I want to go to the University to become a pharmacist.  I've been a nurse for a while and I have finally decided what I want to be when I grow up! Where is the best place to live as far as being able to have easy access to work and reasonable cost of living? Are there any places recommended over any other?

That depends on what type of job you want and where it is located. Some people choose main access areas (kind of like living in the middle of NYC here in the states), is this kind of what you are looking for?

Yes! Something like that would be fabulous. I do a lot of marketing at the moment. I work online a lot but I need access to "real work" so I can take a full time job when I am finished with schooling. Business management is my major so I have options.
