So I plan on moving to Hawaii but I have 2 dogs and am confused about what is the best way to relocate them there. I heard it is hard moving with pets.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I sure hope you take your pet with you if do decide to move, a pet is just like having a child, if you move you are not just gonna leave the child behind would you? No, you would take the child with you.    When booking a flight on which you wish to bring your pet, call the airline directly to make the reservation and confirm that there is a space available for your pet on the flight and then call 2 days before the flight to confirm you will be flying with a pet.. just be aware that pets fly in the Cargo area.

Advance arrangements with an airline does not guarantees that your pet will travel on a specific flight. Airlines reserve the right to refuse transport of an animal for reasons like illness, an improper carrier, or extreme temperatures.  If the temperatures is (or is forecasted to be) either below 45F or above 85F (75F for snub-nosed dogs), you will need a letter signed by your veterinarian stating that your pet is acclimated to extreme weather. If the temperature is below 20F or above 95F, your pet will likely not be allowed to travel in the cargo area.  Airlines can also refuse carriage of an animal that demonstrates aggressive or violent behavior.

According to American Airlines:

Hawaii is a rabies-free state and state law requires 120-day quarantine for dogs/cats to protect residents and pets. The quarantine periods can be reduced to five (5) days or less if specific qualifications are met. See http://hawaii.gov/hdoa/ai/aqs/info  for more information. ALL pet arrivals/connections in/through Hawaii must be via Honolulu.

No pets are accepted on non-stop flights to Maui, the Big Island or Kauai.

Pregnant animals past 45 days gestation are not permitted.

Pets Connecting in Honolulu to points within HawaiiAmerican Airlines will transport all pets to Animal Quarantine in Honolulu. The pet will remain there for the pre-determined quarantine period at which time the owner makes arrangements to transport the pet to outer island, either by coming to Honolulu or through air cargo. The owner is responsible for making all necessary arrangement with the Animal Quarantine office in Honolulu at 808-483-7171.

Pets Connecting in Honolulu to points beyond HawaiiUpon arrival in Honolulu, American Airlines will take the pet to a sterile area where the pet is held until the connecting flight departure time. The connecting carrier will pick up the pet from the sterile transit area and deliver the pet directly to the connecting flight. The owner of the pet is responsible for making all arrangements directly with the Animal Quarantine office in Honolulu at 808-483-7171 and with the connecting carrier. The owner pays each carrier directly for applicable charges

Now, if you would prefer to travel with your dog sitting next to you instead of having him/her in the Cargo area you can contact a Dog travel complany such as this one here: http://www.dogtravelcompany.net/Hawaii.html

There is a very good per mover service available on the Net.  You may visit http://www.airanimal.com/ to get more details.
