Hana is in Maui county 118 miles east of Honolulu. There are aboit 709 people living there. In 2000 the median family income was $54,167. If your just starting out and are single, you can likely find a small apartment rental in Hana. There are many single people with good incomes living in Hana.

Hana is the last undeveloped tropical paradise in Maui. It is reached mainly through the 52-mile long Hana Highway along Maui's northern shore. It can also be reached by air through Hana Airport from Big Island, Oahu and Kahului.

Hana has black sand, white sand and red sand beaches, waterfalls and natural pools. It has endless miles of hiking trails through the jungles and the beach fronts. The place is ideal for traditional Hawaii vacations and not for the grumpy tourist.

The first sugar plantation in Hawaii was established in Hana. Today, the plantation has been converted into Hana Ranch, where Hereford beef cattle are raised and where Hana Ranch Hotel is built. Hana blends the past and present Hawaii as it welcomes tourists who continuously return to its refreshing natural beauty.

Oh yeah, the pools are beautiful. Waioka pool is a natural spring and ocean fed pool. It was once used by ancient Hawaiian royalty. This is one of the black sand pools.
