I know there are probably a ton of beaches in and around Honolulu but I am not much into cramped spaces.  What I am wondering is if there are any beaches that are not as touristy that might offer some sense of solitude?

I've heard that the beach around the Kalakaua area is fairly quiet. Otherwise I don't really know what to recommend. You can probably narrow it down by researching where people hold surfing competitions and where the large resort areas are.

Go to the smaller islands. The tourists tend not to congregate there so you have a lot more unspoiled beauty to enjoy. That's what I do at least.

Parsons, is that easy to do? Hop islands I mean.  It sounds like a good idea i just don't know if it is an affordable, or timely option as I don't know how much free time I will have.
