I read that the giant waves in the North Shore can get as high as 20 feet from November to February. Wow, Isn't that just like riding a tsunami? Surely a beginner in surfing can't go into the waters in those kinds of condition. That's for expert surfers only, isn't it?

I think I`d rather sit on the beach and watch the surfers. I`m too chicken to go out that far. The surfers amaze me. Although I have only seen them on TV.

I have red that there are protected coves where the waves are much less powerful and you can take surfing lessons without the fear of being drowned by a 25 foot monster wave.

This is one of the best places for surfing a friend of mine who a few months ago took a vacation at Northern Oahu. He continued to say that there are beautiful of courses around like Turtle Bay Resort and Country Club. Now that's my cup of tea.
