Hi Cheesy

For all you surf fans, which spot would you say is better?

Northshore Oahu - Hawaii .. or .. Mavericks - California

I'm a surfing enthusiast and i am thinking of relocating to either one of these spots, dependant on the surf! .. Does anybody here have any experience with these spots? And which would you recommend?

In Hawaii best surfing beaches can be found around the North Shore.

Keep in mind that the best surf spots in Hawaii vary from season to season as wind directions change.  From May through October surfers head to the south shores of Waikiki Beach (Oahu) and Diamond Head Beach for the best summer surf.

The top surfing beach is called the Banzai Pipeline and it can be reached by car or by public transit from Waikiki Beach as well.  Banzai Beach has excellent conditions for all water activities in the summer and tubular waves great for surfing in the winter.

Waimea Bay is believed to be the best place for surfing in Northshore Oahu.  The months between November and February are considered the best for surfing.

Haleiwa is also one of the best surf spots in NorthShore Oahu.  It is literally called historic surf town too by the locals.
