Also Safeway and Longs Drugstore have secured the place, to serve the community’s needs. Just beside the shopping complex is the Manoa Valley Theatre. The theatre hosts a year-round of performances.

Manoa is also popular for the beautiful Manoa Falls. The hiking trail starts from the back of the island and to the falls. Hiking through this trail is one of the locals’ favorite outdoor recreations. Manoa residents can also do their outdoor activit ies at the Manoa District Park. This is where the children’s football, soccer and basketball leagues practice and play during their respective seasons. The park also has a gymnasium for volleyball and basketball games, tennis courts and a swimming pool.

Malama O Manoa is a nonprofit organization, which manages preservation efforts in the land and seeks to celebrate the cultural diversity and heritage of all residents in the valley. They organize a biennial walking tour that highlights properties on the State Register of Historic Home; this is one of their most popular events.
