Located up the Wa’ahila Ridge, St. Louis Heights consists of older single-family homes. The elevated location gives St. Louis Heights’ residents fantastic views of the ocean, Manoa Valley and Waikiki. Most of the residential area is located on the hillside of the ridge.

At the base of St. Louis Heights, homeowners will find a booming commercial activity where there are a variety of restaurants and ser vice options. More commercial areas are located along the Waialae and Kapahulu Avenues. Both main streets have a large variety of restaurants specializing in different cuisines. One popular restaurant is the Rainbow Drive-Inn; it’s a traditional local haunts that most Hawaiians frequent. Aside from these, there are also multiple shops and eateries that line Waialae and Kapahuli. This includes Market City Shopping Center and the Avenue Shops at Safeway Center.

Falling under the Kaimuku Complext school district, St. Louis Heights students have several options of schools to attend to. There are seven elementary schools, like Washington and Jarrett Middle Schools and Kaimuki High School. Th e grounds of Kaimuki High School also house the Kaimuki Community School, learning center for adults. At the base of the residential area, homeowners would find a private all-boys academy.
