A community of single and multi-family homes and townhouse units, Village Park is located in the subdivision of Waipahu. The remnants of the old plantation era in the form of unique architecture and buildings remain preserve d for cultural and educational purposes. The Hawaii Plantation Village is the living museum that commemorates the years when sugar reigned and shaped the history of Hawaii.
Waipahu homeowners have several shopping and grocery options in the area. The Waipahu Shopping Plaza, Waipahu Shopping Village Center, Waipahu Town Shopping Center, and Westgate Shopping Center are just some of the commercial establishments in the area.
For other recreational activities, residents can visit several parks in the area. Parks are popular places for family get-togethers. Three of the most popular parks are the Honowai Neighborhood Park, Waipahu Cultural Garden Park and Waipahu Field. All have the necessary space fo r residents to enjoy, hangout and relax. In 1923, Hans L’Orange Park was established as the home base of West Oahu CaneFires, a minor league baseball team.
Waipahu has its own school complex. This complex includes five elementary schools that feed into Waipahu intermediate and high schools. Hawaii Tech Academy, a charter school, is also located in this school district.
