Waialua Real Estate

A peaceful town sitting on Oahu's North Shore, Waialua is home to very family friendly community with a small town atmosphere. Once a plantation, the area continues to undergo new developments for businesses, including in what was once the Waialua Sugar Mill. Locals wish to largely retain the neighborhood's country vibe, so it is quite unlikely that the area will ever be over developed. Waialua is the proud home of the North Shore Surf and Cultural Museum, which is popular amongst residents and tourists alike. Currently there are a number of retails stores at the old Waialua Sugar Mill, including plenty of places to grab a bite to eat while out shopping. The mill also hosts the weekly Waialua Farmer's Market, which allows locals to purchase fresh flowers, foods and various items made locally. Because the area has several beautiful and unspoiled beaches it is very popular amongst those who enjoy the water, and is considered the perfect spot for fishing, boating, snorkeling, swimming, scuba diving and of course surfing. Another two places well suited to such pass times are the Haleiwa Aii Beach park and the Kaiaka Bay Beach Park, which are also popular for get togethers and picnics. Waialua is also home to the famous Turtle Bay Resort, which has a highly prestigious 36 hole golf course. The Waialua school district is comprised of both Waialua and Haleiwa Elementary Schools, along with Waialua High and Middle Schools.
