A community above Pearl City and near the Waiau area, you will find Wailuna. Wailuna is a place filled of mixed large single-family homes and townhouses. This district is especially close to the Aloha Stadium, which is the main area for the major sports events held in Oahu. The stadium is also the home field of the University of Hawaii Warrior football team. Aside from sports events, the stadium also hosts a weekly local swap meet where varieties of products are sold.

Located within the Pearl City, the small strip malls offer residents of Wailuna choices of fast-food and local eateries available. Wailuna residents also have access to the boutiques and stores in the Pearl Ridge Shopping Center.
As for the recreational activities locals can go the 384-acre grounds of Keaiwa Heiau State Recreation Area. The recreation area has campsites and famous Aiea Loop Trail. Permits for their use are being sold by the State Park at t he reasonable price of $5. The camping areas offered the Kaeiwa have picnic areas, restrooms and covered pavilions with barbeque girlls.

Wailuna is part of the Pearl City complex. This district includes eight elementary schools, which are Highlands Intermediate, and then, Pearl City High School. Pearl City HS is known for its exceptional music program. Their concert and marching bands have been invited to various plays at national and international venues.
